She has noted surprise at the level of crime in the area but praised the high-quality response from law enforcement agencies.
Candidacy for Park County Attorney
In May 2026, Smith announced her candidacy for Park County and Prosecuting Attorney, succeeding longtime attorney Bryan Skoric (who is not seeking re-election). She emphasizes continuing a fiscally conservative approach, protecting Park County residents and finances, and maintaining strong partnerships with law enforcement to improve community safety. She supports unifying the county attorney’s offices in Cody and Powell for better efficiency and has highlighted the need for community collaboration on issues like juvenile delinquency and schooling challenges, particularly those impacted by the COVID-19 period.Smith is one of two deputy prosecutors from the office running for the position. This biography is compiled from publicly available sources, including local news coverage in the Powell Tribune and Cody Enterprise, professional directories (Avvo, Martindale), and Wyoming bar records.
